The Road That Was Supposed To Be!

It was a long time ago
1943,
You promised a road
That was supposed to be.
Families were moved
It wasn't their fault,
The construction began
But it came to a halt.
There were men over seas
Fighting for you,
Their land was stolen
But nothing they could do.
They were promised a road
To their land that was
lost,
But it's 63 years later
And they've been
double-crossed.
They believed in our
government
And the contract in hand,
But the promise was broken
Now we're taking a stand.
There were sacrifices made
For the country we love,
Now please finish the road
For those in heaven above!
